On Thursday, October 6, 2016, Helias Catholic High School celebrated their fourth day of homecoming. Thursday’s theme was dressing up as your favorite artist or celebrity. Many students dressed up and showed off how much they could look like the person they were trying to impersonate.
Many students participated in dressing up as celebrities or artists. Even some faculty dressed up to do a flash mob during first hour lunch. Many students dressed up as rappers or country singers. There were multiply students who dressed up as Taylor Swift. Some students didn’t dress up at all.
“I just didn’t feel like putting in the work today when I got up,” said Jacob Clenski. “I was really trying to figure out who I was going to dress as but I couldn’t decide.”
The science teachers teamed up together and dressed up as the Village People from their music video YMCA. Before school, the science teachers went outside in the front of school and stated to dance and sing as students stared and walked into school.
“We had to come up with a great group theme,” said Coach Wilson. “We were brainstorming and decided everyone needed a different costume, so it worked out great as the Village People.”
Coach Wilson dressed up as a construction worker of the Village People. He wore a white hard hat and a tool kit on his side. The science teachers also did a flash mob at the beginning of the first hour lunch.
“I really liked today’s theme,” said Brandon Ferguson. “It really got me thinking about who I wanted to be if I were a rapper. Some rappers just look so cool with their tattoos.”
