Helias Students threw it back a few centuries for this year’s homecoming theme, but kept the dance moves of the 21st century. Many students were getting funky fresh at this year’s homecoming dance.
“I’m gonna dance until I can’t dance anymore,” said Andrew Bennett. “I’ll show everyone in this room how to ‘Dougie,’ ‘Whip,’ and ‘Hit the Quan’ all at once.”
The dance was packed with formally-dressed students throwing it down on the dance floor. No student could look anywhere on the dance floor and not see many students dancing. There were “nae-naes” and “whips” being hit left and right as far as the eye could see.
“Honestly, I don’t think anyone could make it through the whole night with at least hitting one dance move,” said Zach Gaines. “This dance is lit and no one is gonna leave this dance without having a good time.”
Students danced the night away and the intensity of the dance only continued to grow and grow. Smiles and laughter were the only expressions that could be seen on many of the students faces. Students jammed out to many songs the DJ played, and the momentum and number of students dancing grew as the night went on.
“I have gone to all four homecomings while I’ve attended Helias Catholic, but this was by far the best one I’ve ever been to,” said Matthias Dunville. “Tonight was without a doubt one of the best nights of my life, and a night I will never forget. I wish I could go back and relive it over and over, but I’ll just wait for Sadie Hawkins instead.”
