The Laziness Guide: Summer Vacation, a column

Summer is coming in hot and all Helias students plan to do many exciting activities and go on awesome adventures.  Coming back to reality, the most likely thing to happen is a majority of the time being spent indoors. And isn’t that the dang truth?  But don’t be scared, many fun things can keep you entertained while you waste your summer away inside.

This summer is going to be filled with movies.  Now you may have to get up and drive to a theater but you will still be indoors and you will be seated most of the time.  For you Bryan Cranston fans, “Godzilla” comes out May 16th.  There isn’t much more you could want out of a movie.  Colton Ferguson’s personal favorite,” Jersey Boys”, comes out June 20th.  It will be a movie musical to top all movie musicals.  One movie on my list that is a little dicey is “Transformers: Age of Extinction”, but once I saw that Mark Wahlberg was in it, I knew It was a must watch.  Last movie on my list is “Jupiter Ascending”.  The movie sounds weird but it’s from the makers of the Matrix and it has a half-wolf bounty hunter (Channing Tatum) and a galactic princess (Mila Kunis).

There are a load of new albums coming out this summer, and unlike movies you don’t have to leave your home to listen.  Coming out in May the “Black Keys”, “Coldplay”, and Michael Jackson have new albums being released. “ Xscape”, the new album by Michael Jackson, is a compilation of previously unreleased tracks by the artist.  One of the best albums coming out in June is the new Linkin Park album.  If you have any questions ask Hale Hentges.  TBA (to be announced) albums included artists such as Blink-182, Chris Brown, Foo Fighters, Frank Ocean, Judas Priest, Kanye West, Limp Bizkit, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Whitesnake.

Video games, some people love video games.  Sadly, this isn’t the best time for really great video games.  The cream of the crop would be “Titanfall”, which is currently out but it will be played all summer.  Others include Mario Kart 8, MLB 14: The Show, and Wolfenstein: The New Order.  The last game sounds awesome in my opinion.  It involves Nazis in an alternate reality.

There are many other options for fun indoors.  There is always watching T.V. and maybe a competitive game of Uno.  Hopefully this is a summer to top all summers, but if not, which is likely, may this serve as a guide for your laziness.
